Senator Blackburn's aid, Michael Hensley, made a visit to Johnson County on Thursday afternoon. As I showed Michael the visible issues to the roof line of the building, my observation is that this will not be an easy fix. I have also shared my personal assessment with Representative Harshbarger. I received a response, via text, from Harshbarger's office Thursday evening. My statement to all parties involved is to not let the Town of Mountain City go without a post office branch; our county deserves better than this. Read text message. I want to personally thank our local postal employees who are going above expectations as they faced the overnight closure of the building and continue to serve the residents of Johnson County. I will continue to share more information as it becomes available.
